What is body mass index?
Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement that can be used to estimate whether you are in the healthy weight range for your height and ethnicity. Your BMI is calculated by dividing your weight, in kilograms, by your height in metres, squared.
Use the BMI table below to see what health range you are in – but remember there are other factors that could mean your BMI is not a true indicator of healthy weight, and you may wish to discuss your results with a health professional.
