Video – about how dangerous whooping cough can be, particularly for young babies.
Whooping cough
Whooping cough continues to be a problem in New Zealand. Groups most at risk of serious, life-threatening complications are young babies, toddlers, pregnant mums and people with lower immunity (from cancer, transplants, or other conditions). Immunisation is the best protection for babies and people in contact with newborn babies should also consider vaccination against whooping cough.
