A stroke can happen at any time
Strokes can happen at any time and are now treated as seriously as a heart attack. The quicker a person who is having a stroke gets to hospital and receives treatment, the better their chance of a full recovery. In this video, Dr Anna Ranta, a neurologist at Wellington Hospital describes the FAST TRACK Stroke service now available in some centres.
If you think anyone is having a stroke, ring 111 immediately and talk with the ambulance crew. They will tell you what to do.
