Strep throat explained simply
Strep throat is a bacterial infection that can make your throat swell, feel sore and scratchy. It is most common around the ages of 5 to 15, but can infect people of all ages. If left untreated, strep throat can lead to serious illnesses such as kidney inflammation and rheumatic fever. If you or your child have a sore throat, get it checked by your doctor immediately.
