Videos about a range of organisations focused on improving self-care and self-management support for both the public and health providers.
The People's Voice: impact of self-management support
"Health services have traditionally been configured to meet what clinicians felt were the medical needs of patients, with less interest being paid to what is actually important to the people receiving care.
Progress is being made with personalising services to patients, focussing on outcomes
rather than targets, and providing people with more integrated or 'joined-up' services. However, dramatic failures of care, for example in Mid-Staffordshire, have given momentum to the need of the health and care services to air and respond to the voices of patients and carers." This video will share some of those voices and explain a little about Self-Management UK, previously known as Expert Patients Community Interest Company. (16 minutes)
