The Edinburgh postnatal depression scale (EPDS) is one of the tools used to assess mood in women during pregnancy and for the first 12 months after their baby is born. This is not intended to provide a diagnosis – only trained health professionals should do this.
Translated versions of the EPDS scale
The EPDS has been translated into the following languages and is available on the Perinatal Services website from British Columbia. It is strongly recommended that these questions are completed with a health professional.
