New Zealanders, Shout UK needs your help! Shout 85258 is like New Zealand’s free 1737 service, but it is not government funded.
Shout needs teams on both sides of the world to keep their service going round the clock, and they are currently looking for new Kiwi volunteers after an explosion of need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shout Volunteers are essential to their service and at the heart of everything we do. They support people in the UK who are struggling to cope, helping them reach a calmer place.
If you volunteer, you'll get 25 hours of free in-depth mental health communication training and ongoing dedicated coaching so you can help others while developing invaluable skills for life.
New Zealand volunteers come online during the New Zealand daytime to help Shout UK provide round-the-clock support for people struggling to cope. They staff the 24/7 service, enabling Shout UK to keep talking to texters when it's the middle of the night for UK volunteers and when other services are not available.
