Signing up for notifications from High Alert of when dangerous drugs are in our communities is a way of reducing harm to people using those drugs.
High Alert is the home of Drug Information and Alerts Aotearoa New Zealand (DIANZ), an early warning system for dangerous drugs. DIANZ is supported by a network of health professionals and social services, all working together to reduce drug-related harm.
A core function of DIANZ is to gather and analyse data from a variety of sources, in order to monitor drug trends. When something is identified that poses significant harm, DIANZ issues alerts and notifications at High Alert .
You can also stay informed by signing up to receive updates via email.
Since the website launched 3 months ago, DIANZ has published 4 notifications to inform the public of dangerous drugs in the community.
Along with accessing harm reduction information through the website, you can also report any unexpected or concerning effects from drugs you may have taken. This will help keep others safe. All information shared through the site is entirely confidential, and won’t be used for enforcement purposes.
