Whakatau Mai – free wellbeing support

Whakatau Mai Wellbeing Sessions offer free, online, nationwide events to support wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

All sessions are held online via Zoom, meaning barriers to accessibility have been removed – no referral is needed, there is no cost to attend and you can join from the comfort of your own space, wherever you are in the country.

These diverse sessions invite you to connect with others, learn and practice new skills, and start to look at things differently – one conversation at a time. They are open to anyone aged over 18 years in Aotearoa New Zealand.

These sessions are delivered by Changing Minds and supported by the Ministry of Health. They are part of the Government’s COVID-19 recovery package.

This initiative is lived experience-led, which means they are run by people who have ‘been there, lived that'. Each session also includes a support member – someone available to connect with you one on one if you need instant support away from the group.

Sessions include:

  • meditation and journaling
  • yoga
  • relaxation
  • seminars
  • movement
  • qigong
  • support groups
  • rainbow LGBTQIA+ community
  • fitness (no equipment needed)
  • art
  • guided meditation
  • family-friendly sessions (available in Levels 3 and 4 only).

Me kōrero kia ora ai tatou – Let us connect so we may all find wellbeing.
