The funded brand of cilazapril with hydrochlorothiazide combination tablets is being discontinued in New Zealand.
As of 1 March 2020, people currently prescribed cilazapril 5mg + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg combination tablets will need to transition to a different blood pressure medicine. Apo-cilazapril/hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and is called an antihypertensive.
Apotex, the supplier of Apo-Cilazapril/hydrochlorothiazide, has announced that it will no longer be able supply this medicine in New Zealand. There are a number of fully funded treatment options. You will need to talk to your health care professional to find out which is best for you.
If you have more questions about your medicines, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
