For the sake of men’s health, men all over the world will be growing a moustache every November.
So how exactly does growing a moustache help to change the face of men's health? The aim of Movember is to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, for conditions such as prostate cancer and depression. The awareness that is generated prompts men to become proactive when it comes to their health. It’s this awareness which can ultimately save lives.
Book review: All Blacks Don’t Cry
“Depression doesn’t discriminate. It has no prejudice. I didn’t choose depression, and when it came along I simply didn’t believe it could be happening to me. I was in total denial. The day I accepted I had this illness was the day I started getting better.” - John Kirwan - ex All Black rugby player.
This book is an excellent resource or read as John Kirwan, (fondly known as JK - a famous rugby player for those outside of NZ), shares his experience of living with and recovering from depression. Written with insight, wisdom and humility, its hopeful and inspiring message will benefit many, especially men. Well worth adding to your resource library for clients or patients.
