Annual region forum focusing on dementia related educational topics for primary care teams.
Breakfast Educational Symposium - 1st September 2014
On the 1st of September, the Northern Region Dementia Workstream hosted its annual regional forum. The main purpose was to provide background and overview of the interface with primary healthcare, an update on the Regions Dementia Pathways and progress in Dementia Care. The symposium focus was on better engagement and support of GPs and Primary Healthcare.
We were fortunate enough to have as keynote speaker Professor Henry Brodaty from New South Wales who is presently:
- Scientia Professor of Ageing and Mental Health; Montefiore Chair of Healthy Brain Ageing; Director of the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre; Co-Director of the Centre for Health Brain Ageing at the University of New South Wales; Senior Consultant in Aged Care Psychiatry and Head of the Memory Disorders Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital.
