How to get the app

The main feature of this app is tracking – users can track symptoms, meals, mood, sleep, exercise and bleeding. The app also has a hot flash tracker which, when pressed, starts a timer to gauge the length of the hot flash. Users can record the intensity of the flash. Users cannot attribute triggers to the flash, which makes it difficult to identify triggers and monitor trends. The 'Insights' section provides very limited information and education on menopause-related topics such as exercise to reduce hot flashes, health-related quality of life in women with or without hot flashes. The 'My Health Info' section has provision to document information like alcohol use, caffeine use, height, weight, etc.

PROS CONS

Tracks hot flashes and their severity either retrospectively or in real time with a timer. There is a notes section for each individual flash to record the time and describe your symptoms.

Basic tracking of other symptoms, meals, mood, sleep, exercise and bleeding.

In the premium version you can share reports.

When inputting a hot flash, you are only able to enter a custom note. You can’t select a trigger from a pre-determined list and therefore this severely limits the ability to determine causes when viewing trends.

✘ No weight or weather/temperature tracking.

✘ Most of the content in the information section ('Iinsights') uses medical language without explanations. The information is also extremely limited or even absent regarding risk factors, pharmacological therapy, alternative medication and behavioural measures.

✘ There are some bugs. When inputting a meal, you must select from sugary, spicy, fatty and high-carb or otherwise you get an error. When clicking on the links in the information section the app crashes.

Comments: The real-time or retrospective hot flash recording is probably the most useful feature in this app. The app could potentially help users identify triggers with the other tracking features. However, the user can’t list triggers for each individual flash and so this limits its usefulness. The developers say that the AI identifies your triggers, but I saw no evidence for this (I may not have been using it long enough). The information section is extremely limited, and what information is available is difficult to digest and is either copied directly from research articles or news reports. Overall, I think the app has potential but at the time of review it was lacklustre.
