What does the app do?
This app is aimed at teaching children about eczema and why emollients (moisturising creams) are such an important part of treatment. Using colourful graphics and through a series of fun games, children can learn the best way to apply their own emollient. A reward system encourages children to practice good emollient use. The app has a separate 'parent' section which provides information about eczema and emollients, and has a diary function to record information about their child's eczema and input photos to share with their healthcare provider. For a more detailed description of the app, see App website and for a detailed review, see Reviews.
✔ Allows you to record a treatment plan with your doctor or on your own.
✘ The app only relates to moisturisers – you cannot plan and record a steroid treatment programme which does limit its use. Steroids are important in eczema management for flares. It probably isn't a coincidence that the sponsor of this app only makes moisturisers, not steroids.
