What does the app do?

This app allows users to record information related to their gut or bowel health such as stool (poo) details (form, colour, urgency, bloating), pain (location and severity), food and drinks consumed, weight, exercise, medications and medical history. Users can also set reminders to take medications and to renew prescriptions, and send (via email) a summary report to physicians or other medical professionals involved with their care. For a more detailed description of the app, see Google Play or iTunes and for a detailed review, see Reviews.

For the complete app description, go to Google Play (android) or the app website.

PROS CONS

✔ Log symptoms, stool frequency and consistency, pain, diet, exercise and weight.

✔ Medication tracker section with reminders.

✔ Export data in csv form.

✔ Customisable food database but it is very limited. Developed by the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation.

✘ Useable after some time and effort - log-in information is not immediately obvious and spans many screens which is time consuming. No user manual.

✘ User interface is dull, mostly uninteresting, confusing and outdated - for example, there are two places to enter that you have blood in your stool and pain.

✘ At the time of review, the last update was four years ago. There are some bugs such as the log saying pounds despite entering a value in kgs.

✘ No data analysis to help correlate foods to symptoms.

✘ No barcode scanner.

✘ No way of going back to edit or delete logs.

✘ List of medications list is US-based and may be confusing to NZ users.
