Projects
At Health Navigator NZ, we are always brimming with new ideas and projects we would love to see happen. The challenge is resourcing and funding such projects, however we believe that by working collaboratively and thinking outside the square, we can achieve far more for the benefit of the NZ health system than as individual organisations.
Here are some of the ideas/projects on the drawing board. Many would also be ideal for Masters or PhD students.
We would love to hear from organisations, individuals, students or supervisors to discuss these further.
Possible projects include:
1. Organising a national conference focusing on Long-Term Conditions
2. Develop or collate (if already existing) a series of short educational videos and interactive online health quizzes about important health topics such as healthy eating, keeping active, steps to keep well, diabetes, topics for young people, healthy ageing, etc. These need to be culturally appropriate and appealing for a NZ audience. Most of the videos available online are American and not so suitable.
3. Create an attractive and informative booklet of people’s stories and tips for living well with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
4. Design and develop a social networking website for health-related communities of interest and connect existing sites into one entry point
