Imagine how useful it would be if all the best health information, e-therapy, teaching tools, resources, examplars and support networks are available from one place and are free of advertising, commerical influence and verified as suitable for New Zealanders?
There is so much that could be done more efficiently and effectively in health. As a country we urgently need such a resource that can be used before, during and after each health visit.

With the right information, at the right literacy level and the right time, families can make better, safer decisions and sometimes even hospital admissions can be avoided. |
Imagine what we could achieve in terms of:
- improved safety,
- quality,
- access, (some treatment is available online 24/7)
- shared decision-making and
- patient/whanau-centred care
if all the main health organisations within New Zealand pooled our resources, talent and energy to realise this vision?
We are too small a country and our taxes are too stretched to keep reinventing the wheel the way we do across all the District Health Boards, Primary Health Organisations and other health organisations.
Health Navigator NZ was started by clinicians and patients as a non-profit community effort to meet this need, to foster collaboration and provide an independent, reliable and trustworthy portal where you can find information, tools, tips, stories and educational resources quickly, easily and reliably.

Content
We are always looking for reliable, non biased and evidence-based content to make available via the website. If you have content that could be useful, we would love to hear from you.
If each of the DHBs and PHOs even made 10% of their patient or clinician resources available to everyone via Health Navigator NZ, we could greatly increase the range, breadth and quality of the information currently available.
